Lovers – First openly supportive cover on newsstands

This RAT cover was the first overtly LGBT to be sold on newsstands, proudly the cover of the May 9-15, 1969 issue of The RAT.  These publications were usually hidden away.  It anticipated the Stonewall Rebellion of June 1969, which was a turning point for LGBT rights.  This archival reproduction is printed locally in Austin, TX on #80lb matte cover and is 12×18.”
